According to the tail number, this is a 'B' model. 'A' and 'B' models had the two blade propellers. The 'C' and 'D' models had the three bladed props. My father trained Vietnamese pilots in both the 'C' and 'D' models. He almost got killed in a T-28

The A model had 800 hp, and a 2 bladed propeller. The B, C, and D models had close to 1500 hp. According to the information shown on the display board in the photograph (and other sources), the larger engine required the use of the 3 bladed propeller.
