I still have this Jett enigine from the late 90's early 2000.... that still goes like stink!!!
is it legal for any racing anymore? I believe it was called a sport jett .40. I turned a 1:18.00 on a long course with it... which i think is a good time for that motor...
Main reason that I am asking... I would love to make it to the Nats in the next couple of years for EF-1.. but long drive for 1 event...My Q40 is a SS nelson, and my other Q500 motor is a SS nelson (both illegal?)

Your Q40 SS Nelson is still legal for AMA 422
Your Q500 SS Nelson is still legal for AMA 428 - but the event is going away in favor of the AMA 426 class.
Your Sport-Jett is not legal for AMA 426 - only the current Jett engine made just for this class is legal. Your Sport-Jett may be legal for AMA 428 but not competitive so I wouldn't bother.

I believe that there is a way to convert your engine to 426 with a muffler change and a couple other parts, at least that's what was intended with the 426 rules, not sure if it worked out that way or not. Call Dub Jett and check with him.
