Yippee!
I finally maidened my Extreme Flight 78" Extra 300!

Woo! After almost 40 combined hours of work, I finally was able to get out and maiden my 78" Extra 300! It runs on a Desert Aircraft 35cc engine and the receiver + ignition is powered by 2x 2-cell LiFe batteries. Unfortunately... I was unable to take a video. My iPhone was dead so I had to take these pictures from my iPad and transfer them to my phone. Enjoy these pictures!!!

Here we are after the maiden. The choke rod vibrated loose, so I had to take off the cowling and screw it back in place. This plane handles AMAZINGLY! I flew in low rates on the first flight with about 55% expo on all servos except throttle. The strange thing is that the plane needed no trimming whatsoever! I let go of the controls for a few seconds and it literally flew itself. Hammerheads and pop-tops are no problem, the elevator and rudder and aileron have PLENTY of throw!!

Happy flying!

Oh, I definitely will. I'm flying again on Monday so I will probably post a video then.

Really beautiful plane, congrats! Not really a surprise that no trim was required. I noticed that with the current high quality laser cut kits as long as you build them straight and set up properly you should barely need to click the trim on the maiden. Have fun!

Heh, not too big of a surprise, eh? Well, I couldn't have known as this was my first genuine laser-cut kit from a different manufacturer other than my usual Hangar 9 and 3D Hobby Shop. I had a 3D Hobby Shop 48" Edge 540 ARF and that required quite a bit of CG adjustments and trimming... Anyway, I made sure that everything was snug tightly and securely in place, and I ran the engine rich on the first flight to break in the engine. It flew beautifully! I will post a video eventually.
