My stab failed on my 4* 64 after about 4 or 5 flights. Loud flutter and nosed in. Mike at Sig replaced it, got in 2 days actually! He said the wire connecting the 2 elev halves was week or too small causing flutter supposed to be upgraded. I'm about ready for the maiden of my replacement plane now. I went ahead and added wire supports just to be safe.

Looks great, I am just about to start my ARF that Mike sent out to me after mine failed. I am going to see if I can install a thicker wire between the elevator halves too. Thanks for the pics.

I had a 4 Star 60 years ago with an Saito 100. I just ordered the Four Star 64 and am going electric with an EFlite Power 52 on 5S with a 15x7 APC prop. Should fly nicely.

Anyone with recent kits? Have they fixed the tail strength issue? I saw in another thread that they were planning to on the next batch. Just got a shipping notice.

I have the 54 which I ordered early last year. I have since converted from Electric to Nitro. It has pretty good strength. I have put it through it's paces pretty hard and no bad issues so far.

The electric will surely be easier on the airframe. Looking forward to the airplane.

I been flying the 4 star 64 via a Power 60 motor for a couple of weeks now and this has become my favorite plane. I love the scale take-offs & landings. It rolls really nice and loops are a blast. :-)

I'm using a 6S 4000mah battery and after 8 minutes of flying, I always have more than 50% remaining.

Oh yeah, I've checked my tail feathers and see no signs of fatigue.

I flew my review model for a couple years with a similar setup and I never had issues with the tail. I image the extra vibrations of the glow engines is making the difference.

I ended up giving mine to a Wounded Warrior who was prescribed RC flying after his injuries. We have become good friends and he just loves this plane along with the T-Clips.

I've been flying the 70" Tclips more and love that plane as it flies a lot like the Four Star 64 but adds in a little more snap on some maneuvers.

Steve ~ you make a good point about the glow vs electric vibration.

And hats off to you for helping out a vet.
