CC Programming 600DFC

Greetings,

I have an Align 600E DFC, with a CC ICE2 100 ESC, programmed for Throttle Type - Fixed End-Points. I would like to re-program the ESC for Throttle Type - Governor Mode.

A little about the heli. It has an Align RCM-BL650L (1220 Kv) motor powered with a 6S 5000mAh pack. 12 tooth pinion, 188 tooth main gear. Don't know the pole count on this motor and a search of the web hasn't provided me with this information either.

So, what do you recommend for setting up this bird? Need to know desired head speed 1, 2, & 3 as well as any other pertinent information I might need to know.

Thanks in advance for replies I get.

First and foremost have you got the Castle link and software downloaded? It will make the job a heck of a lot more straight forwards. You'll need to know your maingear tooth count, pinion tooth count and the number of poles on the motor, look into the can and count the magnets, that's your pole count. Make sure your endpoints are set correctly in your Tx. The rest is simple, plug the esc into the software, click on the governor tab. Then tell it what your desired headspeed is and it'll tell you your throttle curve point, that's it, it's that simple.

Yes

Yes
Was hoping I didn't have to remove the motor from the frame to count the magnets!
Yes

But how do I determine what my desired headspeed is? Is this just a number I pull outta thin air or what??

generally the older 6s version of the trex 600 would run lower head speed than the 12s pro, but 2000RPM +/- 100RPM or so should put you in the ballpark. I don't usually worry about the exact RPM., it's more how it 'feels' in flight so just adjust to suit your preference.

According to this site it's a 6 pole motor: http://www.snhobbies.com/product_inf...oducts_id=1068
