Have looked at those Turnigy motors and noticed that people seem to be using them. What propeller do you use?. Are they okay on a 10x4.7 or happier on a 9x4.7?

Those turnigy motors do look nice. How difficult it is to reverse the shaft? Does it risk damaging the motor?

What about the Turnigy 2217/20 one of the reviews said it was better than the AXI 2212/26 or 2217/16

When you sayt reverse shafts , hoiw do you do this and does ot have ot be done of any motor if not how do youknow which ones have too?

I thougth you just reverse the wires and run the motors in reverse if needed?

The shaft in the these turnigy motors comes out of the end where the motor bolts down / wires come out of. If is left this way and the motors are bolted back to back, as on a y6, you would need to have them spaced apart so that the shaft ends don't meet. As the shafts are about 12mm or 1/2" long, the motors would end up 1" or 25mm apart ... no good. Looking at the hobbyking site, http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...ies_Shaft.html , the replacement shaft does NOT have a second groove at the end of the shaft for the little clip or a second flat on the shaft for a grub screw. For this reason i think I will run with the KDA20-22L See this link and you can see the second groove for the clip when the shaft is turned around http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...it_20___L.html. The other option is simply to cut the shaft off and use the bolt-on propeller mount.

The 2217/20 looks pretty good but at 71 grams it's no lightweight. Starts to add up when you are looking at 6 of them?

Okay ... the end of the motor that the wires come out of is fixed to the heli .. correct? If the shaft comes out that end too it's going to bang together with the shaft of the motor above or below it ... yeah? Shaft at that end of the motor needs to go away ... either end for end the shaft, push it through to the other side of the motor, or just cut it off. Can do another video if that doesnt make sense?

Ahh no i gottcha thanks, so the Turnigy 2213 and 2217 models will not have this issue

The 2217 and 2213 will both have this issue. The picture on the hobbyking site shows the "base" of the motor where the wires come out of, and this is the same end the shaft extends from too. Shaft will have to be reversed or cut off, then the bolt on propeller mount used on the other end of the motor (looks like it is supplied with one). Yes, These http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...er_20_22L.html but you will still have to reverse the shaft. Pretty simple job with these. Be quick ... they sell like hotcakes.

You will also only be able to use the propeller holder type that grips onto the motor shaft rather than the bolt on type (both are supplied) I usually rough up the motor shaft with a course file or similar to lessen the chance of them coming off in flight.
