Did you sand it to fit the saddle?

No, the wing is flat bottomed. I sanded the saddle to fit the wing. If you look at the pictures on the previous page, you'll see it before the wing went on, and you can see the flat wing saddle.

That is ONE gorgeous looking plane (I almost said Beaver, but then realized how it might sound ). Nice work. Looking forward to the video.

Finally, she has flown! The first flight was from a big puddle, just in case things didn't go well. The second was from my local river. As she's overweight, I've decided she needs brushless power, and have ordered another of the motors used in my Spitfire. Stay tuned for Brushless Beaver Reports!

Finally uploaded the video of my Islander's maiden flight. All was well, and it flew really nice. Just needed the aileron rates dialing down a bit, and plenty of rudder mix!

Nice! Isn't it great what you can do with a GWS model and a little bit of creativity?

Yep.

And it definitley helps to have 5+ GWS models under your belt. I knew where and how I needed to deviate from the stock kit before it even arrived.

Hey guys, here is my GWS Me-262

Wingspan 42 inches
EDFs: 2x 64mm
Motors: 2x 5000 Kv
Battery: 3S - 3300mah

It was a fun build. Added mechanical retracts (to small for electrics), lights, and a few other scale touches. It turned out to be a great flier and a pleasure to land.

Here is a video:

Awesome 262 man! I still love GWS stuff because of how customiseable it is. No 2 GWS panes are ever alike.
