Sorry I missed your post Wilfor, my friends 119 was coming along nicely but he shelved it for now to finish another cool project. He is planning on having it at Vegas next year so we will have two for a formation flight.

I'm anxious to get back on my build but right now my business needs some attention. Hope to be back on it full time Monday.
I have the main gear doors all skinned with 1/16" balsa cross grained. The servos are working and the doors close against the stops well so I think I am about done on the mains. I plan on just painting the inside of the doors chromate green and not worry about the inside. Nice thing about the 119 and the way it goes together is that you only see the underside from altitude. So I don't have to spend a lot more time on it.
The nose gear doors are working great and being smaller are stiff enough so nothing to do there but paint.
So I'm almost done with the bottom of the middle section, I'll flip it over and start of the top of it. Needs some more detail and blemishes fixed. We aren't that far away from paint but the painting will take some time for sure.

Ive been following along so i know how busy you are no worries . at the rate you build it shocking you respond as often as you do .

twin 119's at vegas would be cool , just another reason to try and make it next year .

Its a shame theres no EDF's in those nacelles or you could bring it to mesa next weekend for me to see

My Wife still wants to go home to Europe next year for a visit so vegas isnt yet in my cards but im working hard at getting it in there

Well, cheap as compared to smaller venues.
I just flew to Wy and they charged me $25 for a small roller bag. The guy in front of me had a huge suitcase that looked to weigh about 400 lbs! They charged him $125. So I guess "cheap" is relative.

Heading home today, hope to get some work done on the dollar nineteen tomorrow.

Back on the job today, the 119 job that is. Working on the lighting system. Sure hope this works well because it's a pain working all those wires into the single channel. But the starboard wing is done. Moving to the port one.
The dent in the LE next to the landing light is compliments of my buddy Woody. Seems he didn't think I had enough to do so he dropped a battery pack on it.

With a little soldering and these connectors you can bring it down to a single connector per wing (at least for the wires shown in that picture). I use it for connections with up to 4 servos by combining all ground wires into one pin and all power wires into one pin.

I have my Spitfire 60 set up that way, a single connector to feed 2 aileron servos, one flap servo and the retracts.

Do use a common + and - ?

That would have sure helped on the wiring birger. I'm not much of an electrician, just try to follow the simplest path.
I got one of those Nitroplanes lighting systems (~$15) and to keep things simple I am just lengthening the wires on it and using it's controller.

These are nice because they are polarized and locking. They also sell a line of .100" multiple shells that use standard servo pins for the "crimp challenged".

Nice alternatives guys. Where were you when I was burning out two iron tips while soldering all these connections?
Seriously, they look promising and I will consider them next time. I may, just may, have lights going tomorrow. That is if I have them all soldered up correctly. Starting to see double after all of this.

would be cool to put some pen lazars on them miniguns that flashed on and off would look like they where firing in the right conditions
