Trojan RC Cruiser Boat Electric Model

Just a fantastic Scratch Built model from pictures and not plans!

Our Tony Lombardo, Master Modeler from Titusville, Florida Built this fantastic looking model a few years ago and sat on the shelf.

Last week, another good friend, Mark S., came over and Tony gave him this model to enjoy. Mark wasted no time and searched for a suitable Brushed motor for it. He came across an Electric Saw tool and took out the rather large Brushed motor with internal fan unit and worked perfect for this model.

Just watch the Video!

Great boat. I like how she rides. I must say you two guys are very lucky to have a friend like Mr. Lombardo. On a side note. I finally laid out my keel so hopefully I will have something to run with you guys by spring!

Super news! I can't wait to meet you! You need to plan a trip to Titusville so, you can meet Tony Lombardo as he is very talented and to see all of his boats / Ships!

He is completing a large Cargo Ship from the Early 1920's and it is just amazing detail. I have the pictures on my hard drive and soon I will be opening up a new thread of his build.

It is the Cloud Puffer or something like that.

Gerry,

When are you going to get your RC Electric Boat?

I can give you my smaller DUMAS PT109 after I fix her up!

Yes, he is a very nice guy and a straight (tell like it is) kind of fellow. No Bull.

Don't know about the relation, I will ask.

Tony has been in numerous airplane articles in all the main model airplane magazines in the 1970s and 80s.He isn't known too much in the r/c world for his boat buildng...at least not yet .

He is the only person I know that can build an accurate model from just a picture. I have watched an ugly hull go to an incredible ship in a few weeks....or so it seemed.

I have been helping him with fiberglassing and giving some motors along with a box of small gears. I refused any money...thus the boat. It was already run years ago...so set up was pretty easy.

Mark,

Yes indeed you have! That Clyde Puffer Cargo Ship is coming along very well and here is the new thread:

BY THE WAY>>>

for the boaters out there....I have a pile of small gears that can be used in model boats for varoius deck items, dont think they would be good for a reduction since they are aluminum.

I will post pics, pay for shipping, they will be yours.

I have over 100,so plenty for everyone..I think.

Tony made a deck winch from a few of them.

Really? Looks like a Dumas F31Trojan to me. Same cabin mounting design.

This is what a copy made from fiberglass looks like.

I have the boat...it is scratchbuilt. I'm sure Tony would remember if it was a kit. He has built a few boat kits...9 out of 10 were not from what I've seen in his house/garage
