Signed up! Looking forward to the #1 TD soaring event in the U.S. Hey Claude, how about a whisper on what the landing target will look like this year? If you just do an inconspicuous-type post I'm sure I'll be the only one to see it.

Cheers,
Chris B.

40th Fall Fest. TD/ALES

As the title says it time for the 40th edition of the Fall Fest. October 4/5/6

Claude has opened up registration for this years Fall Fest. You can go on line at <rcsoaring.com> click the contest section on the banner at the top of the page. There you will find a online application with pay pal. You can also download a entry form and pay by check.

We will fly the usual classes Saturday and Sunday plus the addition of a ALES class. You ALES guys will be limited to 150m for this one. The landings will be the same for all classes.

We will also hold a Friday ALES only event. This will be the standard 200m or 30 seconds with a landing tape event. Kent Nogy and his professional crew of Mark Taylor and Tim Johnson will CD this one. Sign up Friday at the field will open at 11 am under the pavilion with flying to start at noon. This later start will give those who need time to travel.

For both ALES events no skegs will be allowed. You must also supply your own limiter that will automatically shut off your motor at 150m/200 or 30 seconds.

Those who want to practice on Friday, not to worry, we will have the basin mowed and open so you can set up your winches and hi-starts and practice while the Friday ALES is being flown.

We would like to thank you in advance for your participation all these years. You have helped make this contest what it is today.

With your continued support we are looking forward to the next 40 years.

Am I correct to understand that both Saturday and Sunday ALES, with 150m launch, will be flown as it's own class without regard to what kind of ship, is being flown? (Radians will be directly competing with E-Supras for both days)? Finally, how many rounds of ALES are planned for Saturday and Sunday?

ALES will be scored as one separate class with no regard to size/functions. Think of it as unlimited electric-launched thermal duration. You would fly the same tasks, same landings as the other classes, mixed into the master flight order. This was done very successfully last year.

150m launch both Saturday and Sunday. ALES will be scored as a separate class. Radians and E-Supras etc. will make up the ALES class.
ALES will fly the same # of rounds as the string launch guys. Check the entry form at <rcsoaring.com>

Fall fest 2013

The Fall Fest is a little more than a month away. Now is the time to get your entrees in.
Go to <rcsoaring.com> click the contest section on top of the page. On line with pay pal or with a check, the choice is yours.

Don't forget the ALES on Friday. On field registration will start Friday at 11:00 a.m. with flying at noon.
Entry fee will be $20.00 for this event. This is the standard 200m or 30 seconds launch with a tape landing.

The basin will be open for practice all day Friday for those who wish.

The Fall Fest as more than a contest it is a celebration of soaring. It puts an big exclamation mark on the 2013 soaring season. It's also time to see old friends and make new ones.

Hope to see you all again soon.

And to make it even more fair, there will even be E-Aspires flying against E-Supras and Radians, who cares, it's just a big bunch of fun. I just wish the micro-brew beer guys would come back.
