does anyone fly with a cg as forward as 25% mac - i have known a few guys who say that they enjoy the stability in turns - please comment - thanks - i normall have my planes set up somewhere about 36 or 37% mac

It is a personal preference and I am not qualified to comment other people's choises. But I doubt any glider flyer would want to fly that nose-heavy, it would totally mask any reaction to lift. Just my humble opinion.

It depends on the model. A short coupled model might be very happy at 25 percent, and a plank flying wing would need to be forward of that just to fly ok.

Suggest you make some small adjustments and see how you like it. To some extent, correct c.g. is a matter of taste. At least if you're not TOO far off.

I agree that for a normal design, 25 percent MAC is a bit far forward.

On the other hand, if you're at the field, and your elevator linkage is a little sticky, 25 percent might be just the thing, since it makes the elevator less sensitive.

There are a bunch of other factors besides c.g. in how happy a model is when turning.
