Wayne, thanks a bunch for checking in here and keeping all of us up to date. There are a bunch of people here getting really excited now that we basically have days to count.

Ahhhh, I want a Taranis! Been holding off on so many things since it was announced. While I will eventually go the UHF route, a Taranis will still be my go-to radio for most of my models. I've been a FrSky user since I got into the hobby and they've been rock-solid since day one.

I hope stock levels stabilize soon so we can all buy one.

I have a Taranis in my hands, yippee!

All appears to be in good order and working. Was surprised, and delighted, to hear it speak to me when I tested the trims – “maximum trim reached”, “trim centre”. No more trying to interpret beeping noises. Looking forward to getting my models programmed on to it and flying with it.

How many units did you get in the first order if you don't mind saying? Just curious on how many flew away in 5 minutes.

I was reading about the antenna's wanting to be as straight as possible, does that include every bit of the antenna or just the black plastic end? Getting as straight as possible on a heli might be a challenge but the end bits will be easy to get straight.

FrSky make clear that they are talking about the active portion of the antenna. Keeping it reasonably straight applies particularly to the older antennas that simply have about 30mm of the shield stripped from the coax leaving just the inner conductor. Newer types of antenna may include a sleeve that should be kept aligned with the exposed inner wire, and now the black plastic variety.

FrSky also call for the two active portions to be as far apart as possible and roughly at right angles. This implies that the coax should be stretched out approximately straight, not coiled up (see their diagrams).

Finally, understand that the coax is fairly vulnerable and should not be sharply bent, kinked, or crushed.

LCD contrast problem

Hi guys, I just received my taranis from T9 in UK but noticed a problem (hopefully fixable) with the LCD contrast. Is there any way to change the contrast as I cannot see the top line very clearly, see attached.
