I'm looking for an outrunner of similar specs to the E-Flite 180 (the link is to the 2300 kV, there's a 3000 kV as well, as found in the UM Stryker).

Anyone with experience of HK outrunners in the 5-10 gram range?

This one or maybe this one?

And a 5 Amp ESC with a 4.2 V BEC?

I'm looking into scratch-building a Stryker with cheap components with this receiver and these servos, the Rx can handle 5 V input but I worry about the servos as they are rated for 4.2 V max.

I have used these with good results. I think these are a little "hotter" than the eflite 180 as well.

The AP05 is a little less powerful than the Park 180, and roughly on par with the low-kV version in the Beast. (It's also several grams lighter.) Very nice motor, and the thrust per watt is very good for the size.

The C10 seems to measure well and weighs about the same, and the "10 gram" 1811 brushless (which I'm told weighs closer to thirteen?) is good on three cells. I've never seen the "1306" listed above, though it looks very nice, too. (There's also the ADH50XL, which is available in a very low kV variant. Decisisions, decisions...)

It would be nice to compile information on all of these motors. Aside from the 1811 and AP05, there's not a lot of useful data.

I've got this one in my scratch built micro Stryker. Running it on 3S through a Turnigy Plush 6A ESC, AR6300 RX and HKs linear servos. Other than the bearings being a bit faulty, its worked great, gets the plane up to at least 70mph.

is half the weight of the "10" gram motor, and about equivalent to the beast motor.

I like it a lot. I like the 10 gram motor a lot too, but it is twice the weight and really needs bigger batteries than the AP05 which I run with Hyperion 180mah 2S batteries. I use a stripped down 6 gram/6 amp (don't really need the amps but it works good with high kv motors) and solder the motor leads directly to the controller. If the plane is light and fast I will use the 5x4.3 GWS.

I use these servos and although they say 1S, so far they work fine on 5 volts.

Does anyone here know where I can find thrust measurements for the less popular motors? The "1811" motor is very nice, but from what I've read, efficiency is only optimal if used on three cells.

my 1811 works fine on 2 cells, with a 300mah pack , i get around 8 minutes of sport flying on a 4 ounce model.

I saw a plot showing efficiency increasing from 60% to 80% on three cells and a reduction in propeller size. Of course, this is only beneficial at higher flight speeds, but it's interesting to consider regardless, and allows for interesting possibilities with gearing.

is the micro stryker motor 10grs? 3000 kv?

That looks exactly like the LCD 10 gram motor that HK sells.
