6db more is double the range so going from 20 to 26db will double the transmitter range. Also the 900+ has a more sensitive longer range receiver so if you have 900+ on both ends you will get way more than double the range of a stock 3DR radio.

.
Power is only a part of the range equation. Antennas and noise floor are equally, if not more important. I operate at 26dBm on the RFD900+ and 20dBm on the 3DR radio (air). I have yet to exceed the range of this set up at 6 miles. At 6 miles I'm still getting 80% good data packets. IMO, key is using the RFD flex dipole antennas. They are light and work excellently. If you are flying a quad, the vertical one should still work. Just put it on an popsicle stick.
As a general note, most of us are more interested in the downlink fade margin.

Strange that they donít give the db gain? Not a very professional ad.

I see it has the wrong connector for Hobby use. Did you use an adapter or solder on a SMA connector.

That's heavy but a Yagi will certainly get you range. I was referring to this one. http://store.rfdesign.com.au/rfdflex...a-300mm-rpsma/
And for a ground station Yagi, this is a much better choice http://store.rfdesign.com.au/antenna-900mhz-6dbi-yagi/
