Wow... did you say 5200MAH batteries for your Dart 250? A little large aren't they? A friend and I have recently bought a Dart 250 each, from HobbyKing. We're both using Naza Lite's, with GPS, as flight controllers. We just started flying them and we're not to sure what we think yet with the Naza's on them. He had a KK2.1 at first but it was more difficult to keep the same altitude - we are not professional's. I'm looking forward to using and monitoring this thread... hopefully others will do the same?

hi, I've recently ordered myself a dart 250 and all the gubbins to get it in to the air, just waiting for everything to arrive to get the assembly going, having lots of time to do research and as they say idle hands to the devils work, I've been wondering if it might be possible to flip the frame to make it low hung and throw some 6" props on there.

has anyone else tried this or is there any reason I've missed as to why it wouldn't work?

Here's the spec for my current build, its my first time building a flying machine and looking forward to all the trials and tribulations that come with it.

Hobbyking Dart 250
Turnigy nano-tech 1300mah 3s LiPo battery
kk2.1.5 flight controller
XT-XINTE MT1806 2400KV motors
XT-XINITE Simonk 12A 2-3s ESCs
Turnigy TGY-i6 TX & 6ch RX

hoping to FPV in the future, but I'll wait till I've learned to fly first 😉

dart 250

Hi Chavas, I have mounted the platform with motor on top, remove the landing skids, replace them with a 450 helico skid, just fit. 6" propellers are installed. I am not so happy about this frame design, and, price, why ? not too easy to build, difficulties to get a decent CG. I hope the addition of FPV Vtx and camera (1 or 2) will help. I have put the CC3D controller on the lowerst plate. Not enough place to put the lipo on the upper plate (propeller are mostly touching the lipo, 2200 S4). The best fit is a 3S 1400mah on the lower plate (not parallell to the frame). To answer to other Dart 250 owner, I have read (somwhere) that this frame CANNOT be used with a NAZA lite, havent tested yet. I am using openpilot. Ready to test cleanflight and/or Baseflight (pitty the motor numbering is different than openpilot). I have NOT planned to test a KK controller. On top of that, first nice impression was the XT90 between the 2 plates, I had to add an extension to reach the lipo and get a decent CG. Nice thing left are the led. My first 250 build has the simplest frame at 10Dlrs from HK, works fantastic with CC3D and beast 2206 motors + afro 12A. Overall dissapointed. Happy flying.

dart 250

I ve changed my mind. Put the cc3D controller on the upper plate + the RX. Removed to lowest plate (this gives place to put the lipo, no restriction on size, and easiest to get a good CG). Test flight tomorrow. I still have place to put VTX and camera on the new lowest plate (which is the one with bumper to the motor plates). This all fit well.
