Goldberg Eagle2 to Electric

Hi all,

I have a eagle2 that I used to run Nitro on, and I now have a couple trex500 heli's. I am looking to retrofit an ESC and Motor into the eagle to, so that I can use my 6s batteries from my Trex on the Eagle2.

What parts and items do I need?

A search would be useful as there have been several threads that speak to the CG Eagle 2.

Here's an older article; that in the last few postings of the discussion speaks to LiPo & Outrunners: http://www.rcgroups.com/links/index.php?id=4485 .

Are you packs 6S or do you get 6 from two 3Ss in series?

Off pavement the CGE2 could actually fly on 3S!

If off 6S then a much lower Kv is needed at the prop for a 10 to 13" prop -- bigger outrunner or gearbox.

Otherwise the choice is going to a little fast spinning prop.

If my memory is correct, the Eagle 2 called for a 25-46 motor. I have one NIB and plan on using a Power 25 or Power 32 running 3-4 cells.

http://www.carlgoldbergproducts.com/.../gpma0955.html : 2-stroke .29-.45 .

The issue is what packs/cell count -- then a motor can be found.

As a trainer nothing would be better than A123-6S and a 550Kv motor w/12x10 APCE!

This gearbox ( http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXMLK0&P=0 ) and motor ( http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...5325&search=Go ) could be used w/6S -- and a mount similar to what I did on the Eagle would make for a nice installation.

Olds, what motor are using? I have E-flight Power 25 on a Seņorita. I found the motor on 3 cells pulls it right along.

The Eflite 25 is a 3548 870kv so a 3542 1100Kv would also do great on 3S. The slightly higher Kv would allow a slightly smaller prop for ground clearance.

So my opinion, go for it with the 3542 1100Kv and play with the prop a little.
