Question
How to charge multiple batteries?

Hi! My name is Joćo and I'm from Portugal. This is my first thread in this forum, and since I'm a beginner, will ask you a quastion.

So I bought my first quadcopter online in Banggoods "WLtoys Skylark V636 RC", and I bought 2 extra batteries as well. My doubt is how can I charge 3 batteries at the same time with the same charger? Is it possible? This is the battery: http://www.banggood.com/WLtoys-Skyla...-p-949193.html

In the attached files there is a system where we can charge them at the same time. How can I find the cable do attach the 3 batteries at the same charger? Is the connector of the battery (the little plastic thing at the end of the cable) universal?

If you could answer my noob questions I will be grateful!

Best Regards!

The model was removed from the online shop. But this link is a good review of the model made by an user from this forum. http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2232133

I don't have any information about the charger, I'll try to find it somewhere in the internet. Thank you

If you use stock charger to parallel charge 3 packs together, charge time will be roughly tripled so you don't really save any time.

Thank you all for your help, I saw that cable on Banggood but wasn't sure if the batteries could attach on that.

Thank you for the support, regards!

I didn't see one on Banggood with the JST plugs you need. The one I linked to above is the one you want.

charger for parallel charging

Just one more doubt guys. For charging in parallel 3 batteries of lithium with 3.7 volts and 730 mAh, using a jst plug cable wich charger do I have to buy? Will I need a charger whose output should be 11.1 volts (3.7*3) right? So I have to buy one of these http://www.banggood.com/Wholesale-IM...r-p-46220.html ? Can I select the output voltage to 11.1? And this usb charger? Does this has energy enough to charge 3 batteries? http://www.banggood.com/3_7V-Lipo-Ba...-p-917170.html

I hope you could help me guys, sorry for bothering. Regards

When charging in parallel you do not add the voltage, it remains the same.
You do add the current. Therefore when charging three 1S 730mAh batteries in parallel the charger is set to 3.7V (1S) and 2.19A.

Please read the article I referenced in post #7.

Yes the IMAX-B6 is an adequate charger for this requirement.

No I do not think the USB charging cable you referenced will charge three 1S 730mAh batteries. At least I would not recommend it if for no other reason that you cannot tell what it is doing. The IMAX-B6 will tell you the battery voltage, the charging current and the ma returned to the pack during the charge.

No, no ! The batteries are connected in PARALLEL. That means you still charge them as a bigger 1S 3.7V battery. So you want a charger that will charge at 3.7V but at a higher current, 3 x 730mA or more, i.e. around 2.2A.

The B6 should do it o.k. But the USB thing only charges at 0.5A so it would take about 4 to 5 hours to charge 3 batteries....if you don't mind waiting that long I guess it would work.

Not trying to hijack the thread, but I'm attempting to do something very similar. I bought multiple batteries for my LaTrax Alias (1s 650mah lipos with a jst connector) and would like to charge them all at once with my Onyx 235 charger.

I'm not sure exactly what I need, but I do know the Onyx 235 has no jst...only a balancing port for the board that came with it and banana clips.

You need one of these parallel charge harnesses: http://www.progressiverc.com/paralle...rge-cable.html

Simply connect to the main 4mm output of your charger, connect all of your cells, set charger to 1S lipoly, set charge current, and start charging.

Note that when connecting multiple cells in parallel, you're effectively creating a larger capacity cell. e.g. - If you connect six of your 650mAh cells in parallel, you now have a 3900mAh, single cell battery. 1C charge would thus be 1S, 3.9A.

Thanks a ton for the help. I'll add a wrinkle to the equation...don't think there's any way to fix this, though.

I got a deal when I bought my quad and it came with two generic 700mah batteries. I assume I can't plug in my 650mah and 700mah batteries at the same time and get a full charge on everything, right? Thanks again for the help!
