They seem good and sturdy, likely better than what I could make my self.

Anyone ever flew with a gopro on top of the plane?

I flew with mine today without the case is it was very nose heavy. Would it be better if I put it in the cockpit?

I am curious about GoPro installation as well -- Seems the cockpit would throw off balance, but outside the plane would add significant wind resistance, unless creating a camera fairing of some sort perhaps? I don't want to hack up the scale plane to fit the camera either...

It may work well in the cockpit. Here is a video of the first time I flew it with the gopro 3 which is suppose to be lighter than the hero2. It was on top and I was fighting with it the whole time. This morning I took it out the case and it was still nose heavy. After a hard landing, the winshield came loose and thats when I thought of putting it inside.

Has anyone put this bird on floats yet? Is the float kit for the 182 Skywagon too big?
Yeah I have the FMS Cessna from SN Hobbies in Vancouver. I bought some bare floats from Slocan Floats in BC and mounted them up myself. Here is a couple of videos I've made:

FMS Cessna converted to floats. Tricky landings! (1 min 48 sec)

FLOAT PLANE NARROWLY MISSES BOAT ON TAKE OFF! HD (2 min 32 sec)

It flies really well on floats and is pretty easy to land and take off on the water!

Need any info or tips on the conversion feel free to ask!

Excellent Video footage and handling of Camera Device!!!

Can you tell me what Camcorder / Camera you used on this footage?

Also, if it was not for those logs, I am sure you could have slow it down a little more. I am sure those logs are nerve wracking.

Nice scale flying!

Ha ha yeah the logs were there to challenge my landing skills. I've definitely had some much nicer landings out in open water! I'm not sure what type of camera was used as it was my friends and I've never actually used it myself. It may be a canon or similar and is just a still camera with 1080 video as well.

Very nice man. I've been thinking about doing that to mine. Do you have pictures of how you mounted the floats?
