Suggestions for FunJet power system

So I have a Multiplex funjet here and I want to make it go fast. I've built several fast wings so I do know some stuff about power systems. Please let me know how this would work out:

4s lipo ... what size is best for the weight ratio of this plane?
45A CC ESC ... is this beefy enough?
HET-4W 2200kv ... good motor choice?
APC 5.5x5.5 ... appropriate prop?

Thanks!
WMD

If you're gonna use the stuff you listed then a 2100-2500 mah 4 cell would work fine, use a external BEC with that esc.
I had the exact same setup you quoted and got about 110 mph using a 6x4 APC sport prop.
This setup is still light enough to retain slow speed handling and have awesome vertical performance.

Thanks, I just might do it then. Definitely separate BEC. I learned the hard way on my Ritewing... lost power to the Spektrum Rx and crashed.

Did you ever test the AMPS with this setup? A 6x4 seems like it would work the 45A ESC pretty hard.

I seem to recall about 40 amps max, just under 500 watts. The esc should have a little headroom left. The motor also can handle it, I even tried a 6x5.5 but then the motor was getting too warm.

I also have a Funjet with a NEU 1110 running on 5 cells and an 80 amp esc and a 6x5.5 prop, that setup is Killer.

Sounds fast, but a bit much for me

Is this setup better than the original I posted?

HET 2W-23 (2850kv)
CC60
5x5
4s3000 30c

I have that motor in a 40" wing and will tell you it really sucks the amps, it is really an edf motor.
I have gotten high amp readings using just a 4.75x4.75, your 60 amp esc will be overloaded with a 5x5.
The 2w-25 will be a better choice.

Ok, what about this vs. the HET-4W setup?

The 4w is a lighter motor than the 2w-23 or 2w-25, also a lower kv, 2200.
The 4w is a good choice for up to about 110 mph running 4 cells and a 6x4 prop

I am going with the HET-4w setup but it seems to be out of stock everywhere

micro dan

A real sleeper is the micro dan 2505 speed. 38 grams!!!
4.75x4.75 on a 2100 4s. Pulls 37 amps and it is screaming fast. You won't believe that such a small motor
could be that fast. I just put a egale tree speed meter in but don't now how fast yet. When it landed at the feild it drew a big crowd to look at it. Jaws dropped when they saw the motor.
