Eneloop V Life
I need to shed some nose weight out of my Xplorer and have a 5 cell eneloop AA pack in the nose from SUSA. Has anyone compared weights between one of these packs and 1400 mah life pack?

If anyone is wondering a 5cell eneloop 1500 pack is 4.85oz or 138grams V. life 1200 pack at 2.75oz or 79 grams. That is a good savings if trying to push your CG back without adding tail weight. The 1450 life packs are 89 grams, you can save a little more by cutting off some of the big connectors.

I think that the ELITE 2/3 A 1500 cells are more of a direct (size and capacity wise) swap for the 2S 1450 Hyperion. R, Target |

Not quite on the topic... but check out the GP270AAHC cells.
I like my 4 cell packs. Only 31g each, rated at 2600mAh but can be discharged at up to 7.5A . Mine are at 2780-2850mAh, down to 0.9v/cell . The lighter AAA cells (GP100AAAHC) http://www.gpbatteries.com/INT/image...GP100AAAHC.pdf are rated at 970mAh and only weigh 15.2g/cell . They show discharge curves up to 2790mA. I haven't tried these yet, but plan to in one of my electric sailplanes possibly this summer. |

Eneloop 1500's are AAA size.
The AA are 2000 or 2500. I have converted several models over from either 4 cell Eneloop AA or 4 cell 2/3A intellect tp Hyperion 2000 Life cells, with some I had to strip the wrapping off, with the FS4 I moved the servos back further. Weights all seem very much the same. |
