I finished bending the landing gear, drilled holes in the plywood formers for thread, then started securing the wires to the formers. I used a little thin ca to tack the braided fishing line in place. After this is done, I will have to line up the LG and wing struts then solder them together. I'll need to make a jig to make sure the top wing mounts are in the right place.
Pics Below. Watching 'The Blue Max' right now, makes me want to lozenge the fuselage too!

This is what I found about having the top wing angled up:
Biplanes are often set up with the forward wing at a positive incidence to the rearward wing. This allows the forward wing to stall first (kinda like washout). Once the forward wing stalls, the plane is effectively flying on the rearward wing. The cg is now also "effectively more forward" so the plane drops it's nose and flys on. If the plane is set up with the rearward wing being more positive, the cg "effectively moves back" and you've got a tail heavy airplane heading for a violent stall. - tpstorey 2004 |
