Also - on stock 4s motor?
mark did not say what het motor he uses on the 12blade 64mm with 4s.

I think he uses that HET 2w20, 3450kv.
The het 2w20 is perfect for the new 70mm Wemo evo, with 4s.
So I believe it is also a good match for
the down size and high blade count 12b 64mm with 4s

Those two fans , even different size but might have similar load on the motor,
9 blade 70mm rotor vs. 12 blade 64mm rotor :-)

I got my 3S version yesterday. Would I be ok running 35c batts in it? I'm looking to order some from HK today. Also any suggestions on fans that might be an upgrade over the stock?

Got a quick video too. I didn't edit the flight, came down a bit early. Was just trying to get some basic footage. This was it's 10th flight. I'm really liking this F22, she can be fast and keep you on your toes, as well as slowing down easily. The flight after I stretched the flight to 4:00min with no problem. She's fast enough that I can lay off the throttle quite a bit and don't have to keep it WOT the whole flight.

Flew my F22 tonight. It was my first EDF flight ever. I hadn't flown in over a month so I did a flight with my PZ T-28 to get back in the groove.

I did 2 flights about 2-3 mins each, looked cool and had a blast... after I got it on the ground and could relax that is My first 2 landings were ok, a slight bounce. My third was bad I let it come down to fast and did a huge bounce but I brought it home in one piece.

I felt like it was under powered though. I was flying around with about 75% power and needed 100% to gain altitude, a loop is pretty much out of the question without a WOT slight dive. On the first takeoff I was a little worried If I would have the power to get off the ground. Is this normal? Could there be something wrong with my motor? I think my stock PZ T-28 with 20C battery could beat this in a race.

Here is the battery I was using for both flights.

The 3s version is probably a dog . The F22 is also not a light EPS jet that some use to be. IMO, 4s is the way to go and will provide plenty of 's.

Yes, I'm running stock servos. I bought the 4s version and sold the power system right away to help pay for the fan upgrade. Like a $20 difference.... well worth it.

I'm gonna upgrade to 4S. Might as well skip buying better 3S bats and just go all the way. Do you think I would be happy with getting MotionRC's 4S setup and throwing it in my F22 or should I upgrade a little more? What would be a good 4S motor upgrade that would fit with the 64mm fan?

I'm using the freewing 3800kV motor with the stock fan, but I upped the ESC to 45A. I've got this set up in a couple of jets with good results. Still not a rocket but a decent speed increase compared to the stock 3500kV.

Does anyone have good video of this plane flying on 3s? I'm very interested in this F-22 and really don't want to bump up to 4s if I don't have to because of limited flying space in the areas where I fly. I really don't want a 100mph jet under those circumstances. And most of my batteries are 3s anyway.

Thanks!

I was in the same boat. Now I'm wishing I would have bought 4S batts and got the 4S version. I wanted a slower jet because this is my first edf. If you read above, I did 2 flights with my 3S 2200mh 25c batts and was a little disappointed. I went ahead and ordered the esc and motor from motion rc that comes in the 4s version and will throw it in my F22. Maybe 3S 30C or 35C would be better? I don't know but IMO go with 4S.

Yes, I saw that. But I did wonder if a 35c or 40c battery might just make the difference needed.

I fly in a really small space and don't want to have a speed demon, but then again I do like the planes to be sporty. This Freewing F-22 is the right size for my flying area. Price and reviews are good too.

I think 35C or 40C would possibly make this an ideal flyer for your area. I dont have any 3S batts that high so I just decieded if im gonna order more batts might as well go 4S. I would be interested to know how it flys for you with those better batts though.
