New Product
Is there interest for an aerodynamic and ergonomic launch-peg?

Hi,

I have developed a new launch-peg that's built in female molds using carbon and herex. It has all the strengths you need, a very ergonomic and aerodynamic shape and its weight is 1.2-1.3 grams.

I have shown it to quite a few other competition-pilots at the eurotour-contest in Reiselfingen last weekend and they love it!

It would not be cheap because only one can be built at a time, but it sure will end with all stress signs on your fingers and you will be able to launch around 2-4 meter higher than with a 8mm carbon rod of the same length.

Your feedback is very much appreciated,
Raphael

I think it would help your cause if you posted pictures, and what's 'herex'?

Pictures will follow tomorrow.
GoFaster is right, Herex is a sandwich-material just like balsa or rohacell. The peg has now 8 24tex carbon Rovings in it, without the herex it needed 16 to fill the mold. The weight was 1.9-2 grams then and the stability was just unnecessary. It's still unbreakable as it is, even if you try really hard.

OK, here we go:

Carved tips to prevent slipping off the ends gets you a very secure grip!

Side by side with a cutted peg, you can see it's materials - carbon and herex. The herex saves about 0.6gr (this means 1.2 grams in total when you add lead to the other wing-half to balance the wing!).

Perfect grip on the surface...

Shaped to fit your fingers...

Total view from the top.

I can only build one a day and I'm already busy for the next 2 weeks, so please be patient if you'd like to have one!

It's not truly symmetric, indeed it is optimized for right-hand-throwers, but as I can feel it, it fits my left hand as well!
I will add a money-back-guarantee to my webshop. So order, test it (before glueing it in of course ), and if you should not like it, return it. I want you to be satisfied with my products!

Herex and airex are two different sheet foams. Herex is much stiffer more like corecell while airex is much more plyable. we use both in the windsurf industry. 1/4" herex or corecell on the bottom of a board, EPS foam in the middle and airex wrapping the top and the rails.

Dear Mauiguy,

that is definetely not true: Alcan-Airex is the company´s name.

Herex is (was) a brand Name like Airex and both are virtually the same materials: simple cross linked pvc-foams

Guess why i know that!
