Help!
Will this head work on Blade 450 3d to fbl??

I am wanting to convert my 450 3d over to fbl, but blades conversion is still $92. I am looking for a setup that will be a direct bolt up without having to do mods. Came across this one from CNC, will it work is my question?

If not then are there any that will? I just don't see spending high$$ on a discontinued bird. Thanks

I put this head on my 450 and it is great. Perfect fit.

I spot checked 2 ball link bolts for thread locker and assumed the entire head was thread locked. It was not. Be sure to check every part. This head and a KBar gyro completely changed how this heli flies.

Good looking setup, so will any 450 brand head fit all? Thats what i am trying to understand also for future reference. I was always under the thinking that only blade parts fit blade. By the time i add up all parts from a 450x i am over $100 kinda ridiculous for a 450 head. IMHO, which makes no sense because all parts from 500x to convert my 500 3d is about $60.

So you put that head from ebay on a Blade 450 3d, just making sure before i decide to buy. You prefer kbar over zyx? I have had good flying with the zyx and had planned on going that route again.

Wait. I cannot say about Blade.

I can tell you that the Ebay head fits my CopterX/TRex 450. The main shaft is the exact diameter and length. The links are the proper length.

My question would be "does align main shaft specs match blade's?"

Best, RW.

About the gyro. Can't compare. My only experience is with this and an authentic AR7200BX. I really like the KBar.

Thanks anyways on the gyro recommendation. Hopefully someone else will know about the Blade 450 3d conversion.

Ok, found something maybe helpful.

In the blade 400 forum on the HF site, 6/13/09 you will see "trex 450 head and tail on blade 400"

I know you have the 450, but I would bet the compatability is there.

Somewhere on this forum i read that a head had to be modded, jesus bolt hole didnt line up. For the life of me i cant find it to get the brand..that was why i started this thread to begin with. That wouldn't be much of a mod but i hoped to do no modding if possible.

You just grind, or sand a few mm off the end of the shaft, until the Jesus bolt hole lines up. How much depends on how deep they drilled the hole.
