Really enjoyed that one Soren. Just wondering (and can't see any mention in the thread) did you do any strengthening to the wings /fuse or is it still stock?

I had the electric motorized version i purchased last November.
I added a carbon rod(arrow) down the wing wire channel for some added strenght. I was really enjoying her till the wing snapped at the top of an aerotow launch in June.

Its still stock, exept for stainless wire for the rudder pull pull, instead of the stock rod ones.

Not the best glider for this kind of fun, but looking great in the air.

Hi guys,

Good to see this is still an active thread I'm planning to pick myself up one of these Foxes soon, and just had a query regarding the recommended gear to set this up.

As this will be my first scale glider and also bigger than anything in my current fleet this is a bit new for me. I'm a capable flyer and will be flying this on the slope, and am plenty familiar with a 4 servo wing.

What Servos would be recommended for the wings and elevator?
And what battery setup would be best suited? LiFe or NiMH?

Any other recommendations on supplied equipment that should be replaced and suggested alternatives would be appreciated as well.

Cheers,
Chris

Nevermind, about the servo's, I read the rest of the Thread and found SpeedsterDen's links to the servos. They look about what I was expecting.

Still interested in info on whether to run LiFe or NiMH.

And if it's worth keeping any of the supplied hardware.

Cheers,
Chris

I haven't finished mine as yet. The two changes I am planning are like Soren replacing the "piano wire" pull pull rudder with a lighter cables and adding a lower plywood support to the main undercarriage.

I am also considering molding servo covers which don't sit so proud of the wing.

Re battery I will be using a 5 cell NiMH's. Lots of room, weight in the nose not a problem. I made sure all the servos etc I use don't mind the extra voltage and if a cell fails should still fly ok.

The landing gear that comes in the box is CR@P. Find something better. Mine broke on the first landing.

2nd Martins landing gear experience... Mine broke in building. I cut aluminum into a "U" shape to make the main gear support.
