DESS Summer Sweat n'Soar - July 13th Wilson NC

DESS and friends invite you to join us on Sunday July 13th for a little Summer Sweat n'Soar - Maybe more of one than the other. This is just a fun get together to fly and grill. We will probably get creative and fly a few task but you are not obligated to do so. This is a good opportunity for a newbie to learn about soaring with out having the pressure of a contest environment . We plan not only to fly ALES planes but TD and HL or anything that thermals. It's up to you what to fly for a given task. We will bring the grill and drinks but you will need to chip in and bring something I will like to eat. Martin will be the C and D
AMA required please,

Field info.

But all my owner manuals stress that they're not toys!
C'n I still has cheezburger? ~

And I'd like to suggest we have a Special Challenge event for Baby Radians (the UMX model). I think Dick Proseus has his about mastered by now & is champing at the bit to wear the 'Baby Ray' crown. How 'bout it, Sir Richard?

Brang 'em if you got 'em!

I'm in - a whole day of soaring on a field dedicated to sailplanes - acres and acres of thermal generating fields and plenty of open sky to get going. No 'no fly' zones anywhere near our field! No landing fees - no flying fees - just bring your sailplane and enjoy.

The AVA -E will fit in just fine. Kyle will bring his also. Be prepared to fly a lot and self time. Bring extra charged battery's and be ably to charge on the field. If we do a ladder task. Then it could work it's way up to 1hr or more with little down time in between flights . But we may fly multiples of 10min 20 min etc Martin can be very creative.

Looks like fun. There's a 95% chance I'll be there. Can I set up a shade tent? How about people list what food they will bring to prevent duplication.

Dave - sure hope you can come.

Setting up a canopy is no problem, we will figure this out in the AM after we set up the winch and landing areas based on wind direction.

Once we closer to the actual date we will start planning the food. We usually do that on the email thread on Yahoo groups.: nc-rcsoaring.

Please put me down as attending. I just bought a Polaris from f3d, my first DLG, and want to get some tips on launching and thermaling.
