But why would it fail in the same spot for everyone?

I think it may be part of the strange PCB programming, such as the
drifting cyclic servo based on throttle input, where the designers were
trying to make it easier for beginners to fly.

I could be wrong, and as soon as I figure it out, I will post.

The fastest way to find out is to bind to a V911 and see if still appears.
Yupp - it was for the throttle pot - but may help for the other stick, too.

Imho it would be much more promising to work on the 9x-throttle problem.

edit:
I have three 9116 TX left - none of them has a dead spot. Using 2 of them to handout to interested kids / my daughter already bound to a V911 or Xieda 9958

If you can fly a V911 with the 9116 TX, with no dead spots, then it's
the PCB.

It's not really a dead spot, it's actually huge deadband, where small
stick movement results in zero servo movement.

And it only happens on forward cyclic. Both Pa Flyer and myself have
noticed it after increasing cyclic sensitivity.

Reverse cyclic does not show the same behavior, and you get servo
action as soon as you start to move the cyclic stick back.
Hm, you may be right.
I had experienced no dead spot with my stock TXes with my two 9116 also, but that may be because I keep my birds as stock as possible - only slight changes for 9116 #1 and no changes at all for #2.
So I'm no help solving this malfunction.

I use the 9116 tx with my V911's and they exhibit the dead spot also: that's why I think the problem is in the tx.

Argh...I'm trying to get ahold of a Xtreme 180 (A) motor but they seem to be scarce, or just sold in matching sets. Does anyone have a recommendation for a retailer?

I just tested my servo movement on the V911 with the std Tx and the 9116 Tx. The std Tx had a slight lag in forward cyclic only, but returned to centre every time. The 9116 Tx had no lag in any direction, but the return to centre on the elevator was all over the place. I noticed this on the 9116 before it went on blocks. So with a loose head, Tx dramas and twitching servo's I had no hope of maintaining a stable hover. I might try swapping the elev and throttle pots to see if there is a change, I also have a V912 PCB on the way, but on the Banggood very slow boat.

My 9116 is dead but perhaps someone with the mid stick deadspot could try a V911 Tx on the 9116?

Yeah I figured it had as much of ill effects but I just wanted to have it able to lift off even if it was a little less stable. As it was it wobbled so bad I didn't wanna keep flying it that way.

As to the dead spot, I'm suffering from it too. Or at least I was until it started running its own dizzy race....

I wish I knew more about the electronics to help but I don't know quite as much as some others **cough steve cough**

I got mine from PowerHobby.com. Came quickly and was the correct one.

The 900mAh batt did fix my issues by the way.

What are guys doing for the canopy connections on the side? I hate the stock snap on/off things. Looking for something better as I have multiple batteries to be swapping in and out.

Thanks!
