Got a 32 cc gas engine. No detailed instruction on mounting the engine. In the instructions there is no mention of the engine right and or down thrust. Should i just bolt it in center and adjust trim to compensate or do I offset it to the left of center and tilt it right?

Hi James. I've been eyeing that airframe for some time. Thanks for posting your build log. Did you get the rear exhaust thing for that engine, or are you just going to run it out the side (stock)?

As far as mounting the engine- I have the RCG 30cc from HK on my SBach, and I have it mounted 3 degrees to the right (I think) and parallel with the wing chord. I have a couple washers between the standoffs and firewall so I can easily adjust the angle. My firewall is already tilted to the right, so the only thing I shimmed was up and down. Is the firewall on this model flat?

I was told that if I bought this model to hysol the wood where it joins the fuse. I know from other HK airplanes I have that it's always a good idea to re-glue the wood because the glue they use isn't the best.

Hope you can get one, I bought the last in stock one through hobby king and they are on back order. Hard to pass up 99 dollars, Shipping outrageous at little over hundred dollars but still cant buy a ARF in the US for 199. Was disapointed fuse was cracked but HK gave me some credit points to compensate for materials to repair. It didnt take them forever either like I see in some posts. Actually I was very satisfied with the way they handled it. So some fiberglass and epoxy wasnt a hard fix at all. Actually i will mount engine inverted and the exhaust will exit the bottom of the cowl. I need to caculate my engine thrust using the online calculator http://www.gsal.org/ click on tools and then motor offset calculator. My firewall is not tilted so I will compensate with washers. Some People say to mount it centered and trim the plane to offset the thrust. But I am not that experienced with correcting for the thrust. May be bad!!! LOL Iwill go ahead and add some using the calculator. I will also recheck the firewall but just eyeballing it it is not tilted. And yes I did gorilla glue all the ply fuse parts. Gorilla glue is great.
