Hobbyking X-UAV Skua FPV Plane EPO 2100mm

Wow, that's one ugly airplane

"If you are looking for the ultimate FPV plane, check out the new Skua from X-UAV. Designed from the outset for long duration FPV duty, the Skua places function over form, creating a very utilitarian platform."

I like it Looks nice for my first long-range FPV aircraft. Just needs to get into the European Warehouse ASAP!

I like it as well and am strongly considering building one... Purpose built FPV aircraft don't tend to be beautiful in the traditional sense.

4 hours flight? 're kidding, how is this possible? I must see to believe.
I just want two hours of flight proven to buy several of these.
Oh! it's not possible, my dreams are becoming reality?

size, light wing loading enables a lot of battery and hours of fligth time. The Asiatech drone cyclops is kind of similar design focus, but even bigger and one guy was getting 7 hours flight time. A whole lotta cruising at moderate speeds and low amps

Subscribing and hoping they'll carry it in the US warehouse. Are there other US distributors?

It's ugly to be sure, but even a couple hours of flying would be great. You don't have to look at it when you're flying.

The price is not too bad, but I don't want to pay a fortune to ship it. When will it be in the USA warehouse?

Also, it would be nice if they included a 5 Hr. motor, and prop. for a few extra bucks. How can they make that claim without a motor, and prop.

Hopefully HK is listening.

Exactly. We already know the prop diameter will be limited to the available clearance to the top of the camera pod - I'm guessing whatever the 5 hour solution to be will include a very large capacity battery with a good quality motor that can stand a LONG run at no less than 6s/24 volts (without overheating) while pulling a minimal amp draw at cruise.

If we knew the prop clearance, we could start working on a potential motor solution. HK says max of 12" but I'll be damned it it looks like there's that much.

Ha ha, yes not very beatiful, but I love this plane. Yesterday I fly the plane the first time. It was windy, but this plane is great. Starts after 2.5m but I have to start direct into the Wind direction because there is no wheel to move left/right.

I am flying a lot of FPV planes, but the SKUA you can fly sooooo slow, great

Now I have two favorites. Fast=X8, slow=SKUA

My Video from yesterday:
X-UAV SKUA "maiden flight" (2 min 28 sec)
