Alternative to hoverthings frame

Hi

Is there any other decent alternatives with a similar layout to the hoverthings frame as they never seem to be in stock the only other alternative I can find is one made by black sheep?

Any help would be great

If you're not in too much of a rush, Hoverthings should catch up with orders and inventory. If not, here's a link to one I've seen posted: http://www.fpvmanuals.com/2012/05/01/qav500/

That would have been perfect but they don't ship to the UK

There's also

Iconic-x
http://quadcopter.us/store/index.php...roller=product

Or QAV500
http://www.fpvmanuals.com/2012/05/01/qav500/

These have the vid gear isolated using the battery as dead weight, like the Spidex above.

The Iconic-X looks nice. I love the CNC arms on both of those, but that is also what $cared me away from those two. The simple rectangular arms on the Spidex seem easily replaced with alu or carbon, and easily adjusted in length for experimentation.

I would definitely get the HoverThings frame!!! Exceptional person, exceptional company, exceptional machine. I don't think you every wait long. Just Email or PM them.

No worries I just posted them as alternatives.

I'm thinking of ordering a Hoverthings flip myself. I'm just trying to figure out if there is a way to incorporate the camera isolation of the 'clean / dirty' sections into it. That would be the best of both worlds

Cheers.

It seems strange to me that the multirotor motor/prop vibrations aren't isolated at the source. I've been servicing electro-mechanical medical equipment for 15 years now and every source of vibration is always isolated right at the source. Why allow it transfer to the framework to be amplified and/or resonate and then attempt to isolate it later? Why not just use isolation at the motors? I know some high end helis do this, and some fixed-wing motor mounts also have isolation. It could be as simple as 4 isolation grommets in the motor mounts with sleeve washers like a servo for consistent compression - but larger and more rigid.

That method has the potential to amplify the vibrations instead of isolating them.

I think the main reason this doesn't get done is because there are a nearly infinite number of combinations of motors/props/frames/etc and therefore getting the isolators correct would require someone (a manufacture, the user, someone) to do a tremendous amount of research and experimentation to come up with isolators that work for each combo.
