Some launching video from the contest in Baltimore last weekend. It's a good look at a Fr3aK in action. Thanks WAZMO for posting this.

Besides yourself, who else was flying a Fr3aK?... I thought I saw one other but then all DLGs look alike from that distance.

To my knowledge, which is incomplete on this, at least Brian, Jim, and Phil also had Fr3aKs available in their arsenal. There may have been others. As for who flew what and when, I don't know. Others can tell you what they saw. I wasn't really paying all that much attention to who was flying what.

Phil had a Fr3aK there but flew older ships. Brian flew a Fr3aK on Saturday in the prelims and a Helios on Sunday. I flew a Fr3aK both days. Jim had a Fr3aK there but didn't have ballast provisions so he flew Stobels.

AFAIK those were the only Fr3aKs there

Brian and Tom are the only ones that flew them AFAIK. A fair amount of planes on the field, nice to start seeing the U.S.A revolution!

I flew my USAble GB1 Sunday morning before the contest. The winds were calmer. I made two throws and burned eight minutes off my transmitter timer. It was great. Then the wind created a ballast request and I had to shift. I need to get a real one finished with ballast provisions.

I'm sort of curious, I've got to set another fuse and I was thinking about push/pull. Has anyone done this on one of Tom's fuse and where did the rod exit?

Gary,

I did push pull on mine (Toms Fuse). I put them inside the boom, exit at the back. You can check them out tomorrow.

So the last of the airplanes from the initial list (and followon lists) leaves Ohio today.

Availability will be getting better as some of the production bottlenecking (me) has been circumvented.

To date I believe I've shipped and / or delivered about 30 airframes. It will be interesting to see how these continue to fare against some of the better known high end ships.

Here are pics of the four leaving for Japan, and a batch of wings showing some of the color schemes. I'll periodically post availability here.

If you were waiting on replacement parts, they are shipping today and tomorrow. This includes Bill, Gary, and Matt. As always, sorry for any delays in getting these to you. There's not a day that goes by that I don't make some sort of parts in addition to my "normal" work and family life.

Wow... I getting worn out just looking at them. That's a lot of work Tom and they look great! I especially like those two with the striped bottoms as opposed to having an identical looking bottom and top. Of course, that because I've developed an orientation issue in my old age.

If there is any chance of me getting my name on a set of tail feathers to be picked up at The Bruce that would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,
Mike

I will set aside a set of the new tails for you Mike. Incidentally, both "invasion" wings on the right side of the picture are sold already. I should have known better than to post pictures

All of these fuses and tails came from my basement. These wings came from the basement of a good friend. The production is obviously ramping up from the 3 / month that started.

Those wings sure are looking nice. I particularly like those "invasion" wings...

I, too, anxiously await some feedback from the early buyers... hopefully will get some stick time on one that'll be at Blue Skies Over Colorado.

I could give you feedback but I'm so new to this type of flying that my limited experience "opinion" is not worth much. It would be kind of like me driving the latest Ferrari F1 car and then giving Michael Schumacher my opinion of it but FWIW. I think it's great!...uh the plane, not the car.
