Were there much modifications involved in putting that mcpx into that scale model?
It's not too much of a job but you have to build it round the mcpx board and tail shaft

link to some build pics and flying pics

Nice collections everyone!

My collection has been kept at a fixed size for a while; but I am working on getting a 700+ scale helicopter build... problem is that the bigger they are, the more expensive they get...

The white RCT-450 is called the MB-3 and still flies today.
The yellow SJM-180 was called the MB-4, it was dismantled although I have all its parts lying around... somewhere.
-------------

The large one is the xMB-8 (now MB-8/UAV)
The middle one is the MB-7
And the small one in that picture is the MB-6E
They all fly to this day.
--------------

the large helicopter is the MB-8/UAV,
the coaxial MCx is the MB-5
the Blade Nano CP-X is called the MB-9
the radio is an 11X.

Heres my scale heli fleet.
Not much to write about them really. Hopefully I can move onto a scale 450 home brew next. I really like the BK117 in Westpac colours.

Phil, nice MCPx conversion by the way. I really like it.

Nice heli's all you folks. Theres some lucky folk out there!

Got to start somewhere! You have some nice looking helis there. If your so mechanically inclined you could get a HK450 for $30. It needs some TLC, but after you work threw the bugs it is workable.

Sounds like a bit of a plan. I could use another copterx head and gyro again.
I was looking into either the copterX 450, or the HK450 kits as the next step. The HK is a lot cheaper, but I could like you say, fix most of it. I have a full machine shop at my disposal here, so most things are possible.
I had to machine the main shaft, blade grips and swash of the CopterX DFC head to fit the King2 heli. Anything is possible though. Good old Scottish make and mend attitude at work!

Ive been scratchbuilding scale planes and boats for too many years now. Have a house/garage/attic full of bloody models. Just started on helis last year. Learned to scale fly them, and began with the scale versions.

Actually the only real issues with the HK is bearings. If you have a good source over there or I use Avidrc. Their bearings are as good or better than boca for a $1 a bearing. http://www.avidrc.com/product/8/metric-bearings/
