How far back from the nose is the recommended CG? Surely it's not 1800mm back, that has to be a typo.

Thats what it says in the manual mate but its not. Try 2100mm from the nose and you wont be far off.

Thanks for the complete review! I'm just starting to assemble my 1200.
Will 30 minute epoxy work also?
Thanks

I have had issues with wings that had the CG wrong, but not this one. I followed the manual and I balanced using the equipment show. So many variables with weight, but it must balance. Note the battery is set on the wing and then balance is achieved. Once it is balanced the battery is marked and cut into the foam.

Hacker fin post

Please check out this link I posted yesterday about the Hacker 1200 upright fins.

http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1549866
I'm putting a 1200 hacker wing together and I'm not very impressed with the upright fin strength. Do any of you beef them up with something like skiskabob sticks or what?
Looks like they will break off EASILY!

The last thing you will do is use the battery to get your CG. I was surprised at how easily the Hotwing 1200 balanced. You really have plenty of foam to dig into so no worries about going all the way through. Pick a battery that best suits your flying needs. There is also one last step in adding 3M fiber tape to the leading edge. I did not do this, and saw nothing that changed the flight. Basically, I did not see that step on the back of the last page.

OK but what is the CG measurement???

That can't be right..... that works out to from 7 inches back to nearly 8 and a half inches from the nose. A range of a full inch and a half in CG measurement for such a short flying wing just canNOT be right. CG is nearly always critical on a flying wing, you have to get it nearly dead-on...so....what is the deal here?

Im confused with the 1800mm to 2100mm cg measurement. The wing isnt even that long. What is being measured? From what point to where?

What's holding the battery in there, just a strip of Velcro? I'd put in a strap just in case.
