11s? No the first were all 12s plus. I know, I designed the motors Then there were some lighter Hacker powered ones. Last was like Dennis' here. We wanted a heavy duty, never die set up that was bullet proof. It was! But there just was no money in it for XPS. They were selling them truly at just about $10 over cost. Jim is still around and doing his radio stuff and some other flight controller things. But no more fans and motors or batteries.

At the time when he came out with the second generation ("Pro") I asked about the one I purchased. He said "You won't be able to use it on 12S. As stated, it is for 11S. 12S for long durations will burn up the Hacker motor" and "You will NOT be able to run the non-PRO version on 12S at full through for more than abou 10 seconds without melting it using 65C batteries. It takes longer to melt with lower C rated batteries, but it still happens. It's limited to about 4000 watts peak" in PM. That's why I have a setup made with 4S+4S+3S for this plane (and the Great Planes 16lb Citabria now...)

If you have the Hacker set up yea it will fry. But the very first gold motors could take it and then some: D The Hackers were a year or so later

The Pro 2 fan runs fine on 18S - absolutely frightening, but fine.

We stopped making fans because our cost went up to be higher than our retail, and I had no interest in selling a $799 fan.

I do have a new design, and a new motor (10Kw) which is about 1.1 pounds lighter than the Pro 2. I may end up making that setup. I got a huge interest in fans while at the AMA show. In fact, way more than I ever expected. So, perhaps the fan market is either booming or stagnant due to the lack of new designs? I don't know as I have not followed anything in a couple of years... but, I will look into things now.

Of course, the funny thing is that my F18 is not done yet and hasn't flown yet... I did run the fan, though. Awesome sound...

I"m getting oh so close to running up the fan and starting to test power setups. Got to get the retracts/air lines secured in place before I mount it solidly. I started cad work on an ESC mount though (Goodness I love having a 3d printer instead of sawing plywood with a coping saw. )

I like my 3D printer for making quick parts, but I love my 100watt laser (48"x20" table) for "sawing" plywood.

Yes there is always another toy
I'd like a CNC router too but I guess I have to draw the line somewhere.
