Have it in my Wishlist next Year in Jan. will buy the Flyer. I have a lot Fun with my Yak 55 Epp, from the King, and the Reaktor is little bit smaller. The Sound by chrashing is not so hard.

Hobbyking Reaktor is a re-branded TechOne Tempo3D. I have the bigger one that has 39" wingspan for sale on my webstore. I have no experience with the smaller one and can't speak of its characteristic. As for the bigger one, i love it! Flies straight and true, 3D very well and almost no wingrock if you keep it light and move the CG back a bit.

Here is my TechOne Mini Tempo 3D thread that you might find useful. I have lots of flights on my Mini Tempo and full size Tempo, both are great.

+1 on the Mini-Tempo. It's a great flying plane, especially on 3S - and very durable.

Great little machine, loves still air, but can handle some breeze too. Like a little IMAC + 3d freestyle plane.

Mine benefited from the following;
-Stock Mtr/prop/esc/servos as recommended from site
-no landing gear
-2s 800 pack required half an oz of nose weight (partially due to no gear) for my cg preference
-3s 800 was a good cg (no added nose weight), but had to cut down GWS 8x4 to 7.25x 4, was needed for temp control
-pull pull tail surfaces are great and save much needed tail weight from adding up.
-motor mount shimmed with washers for slight down and right thrust angle
-big throws and tons of expo.

Very much a point and shoot, no coupling type flyer, and very robust, VERY. :-) excellent design. One of my current favorite park flyers. No bad habits and super accurate.

My first TechOne model, and bought many more items from EppHobby and RCPlaneBuilder as a result of this design and positive experience with the model. These two companies are in the US and the service/people top notch.

Good luck,

Eric

I have one. Nice plane to throw around and it bounces off the ground very well. Forget about the LG, they broke on mine after the 1st landing, and it was not a hard landing at all. Hard to beat it at that price.

I've just ordered one. On back order with 9 orders at the time. Will see when it comes in. I'll be getting the 100w 1350kv tunigy when it comes into stock. Will fly on 3s 800 nanos. It's just the right size for what I like in an aerofioil, epp 3der. Once I saw Wargo video, I know it can perform sweet. I'll report back here when I get to building and I'll follow the mini tempest build thread. I'll be using regular carbon pushrods. It's a bargain if it flies like that I reckon!

mine just arrived the other day.. running 5g servos all round, 850mah 3s nano tech batt and the 2205c 1400kv brushless outruunner from hobbyking.

flies like a dream.. no landing gear needed, hovers at 1/2 power with 9x5 prop and only draws 10 amps at full stick.. great plane. extremely stable with no bad tendencies. love it! very very tough plane too!

I recently built my reaktor. But the CG seems to be way off.

Im using the 2612 2900kv motor, turnigy 9g servos, 18a esc, 8x4 gws prop and a zippy 3s 250mah lipo.

The plane without a lipo weighs 277g. The zippy 3s lipos im using weighs 46g. Which puts the flying weight at 323g.
I have the esc in the slot provided and the rx in the stock slot provided and also the battery in the slot provided.
I tried adding more weight around the battery slot but it didnt help at all.
So what do I need to make this plane fly right?
Should I make another hole more towards the wing and mount the lipo in there?
Or should I shift the esc?

Really not sure how to make it fly right. ATM it seems to dive and if I give it a few clicks of trim it wants to climb. Theres not really a point where it will fly straight on its own. It constantly needs input on the controls to keep it level.

Hello, Mine weighs 300gr all in it, then it must be overweigh, in the web it says from 260 to 300gr. you can put the servos 5gr, and the esc of 12 amp, mine are these and in 2s, so, try to save weigh.
And an important thing is to keep the Cg in its site. try to get it thinner.

I just finished my Reaktor today.
WHAT AN AWESOME AERIE!!!!!!

My spec is:
Motor 2612 1900kv
Esc HK 18-20
Rec Orange R610
Prop 9-4 E prop with prop saver o ring.
Servos HXT900 all round with the included lengthened arms.
Batt 1000mah 20-30c 3S
No landing gear as its so slow I can catch it.
All up weight: 355gr.
She is propped at 210 watt.

That is 272 watt/lb!!!! Awesome!!!

Cg at 87mm to get it agile.
Flew it on the maiden in10-15 Kts wind. Just hád to maiden. She handle the wind better than any other shockie Ive ever flown.

Thank you HK!!!!

With that tiny batt I think your CG is FAR AFT.
Make sure it is at 80-85mm
I think you need a little nose weight behind the motor mount.

An aerie with an AFT cg will be violent in pitch and seem uncontrolable.
Measure ur cg accurately and report back to us ur findings.
