good comments. I am sure I will pick up more finesse with my technique as I grow into this procedure. We do own a winch and plan to begin using it some time soon. The auto tow is a safe step up to the winch. We will have another full day seminar and training on the winch as well. I am quite happy with the day's flying. The lift is very poor this time of year

Nice one. It is always good to get images of your own glider flying.

The UK juniors also posted a fun vid this week.
UK Junior Gliding TV - The 2013 Season Review (16 min 31 sec)

Two of our club gliders feature, the DG1000T comp number 12 and our Discus CS comp number A6 as well as our contingent of juniors.

wow thats really a well organized club. I am afraid that as the U.S. moves more toward socialism there will not be "spare" money to spend on such frivoluos things as flying

Some really good footage there. An unusual perspective.

I recently added a couple more images to my webpage (scroll down for latest)

On Sunday I managed to grab the clubs LS-4 for a couple of flights late in the afternoon. First winch launch at 15:40 hrs,1400' and back on the ground in under 4 minutes. Grrrrrrrr
Second launch scratched away until I got over 1600' then the thermal went mental. Ended up with 9.4 kts on the averager! Pretty good for the UK.
Spotted that the clouds were working up the sunward side and managed to get myself about 1000' higher than cloud-base. Spent a delightful hour playing in the clouds.
I managed to remember to take my newish GoPro and have culled a couple of stills. There may even be a video later.

yeah that sounds big for the UK. My soaring mentor was an Englishman, he spoke of the "British standard thermal" being 4 knots
