General Hobby

Has anyone had experience with planes from General Hobby? Prices look low for their planes.
Thanks for any information on the company and their products.

Bill

I have there 57" MXII

and luv it, should have replaced the cheap wing bolt, but the plane was strait and square!

I poured thin CA over all joints, and fuel proofed the firewall, since I went with a Os 61Fx!

the landing gear could use some extra epoxy, ( like most ARF's)

I have the Evolution which has a reputation for wing issues. So far no problem but I know others have. They seem ok to deal with but you need to stay on them. When you get your plane look it over very carefully and fix any structural issues you find, don't expect it to be right simply because it is a new ARF. There is a lot of interesting stuff in their product line and the prices are decent enough. I'd buy from them again.

I have gone through a couple of the General Hobby planes. They are a decent value, but note the comments above. Any foreign made ARF needs to be looked at carefully, and it never hurts to run white glue over any joints you can reach. Main landing gear are almost always a bit weak. You may want to plug aluminum wing tubes for more wing strength. And beef up the fire wall area.

I would buy more General Hobby planes.

General Hobby, Banana Hobby, Nitro Planes it's all the same company....
And its just my opinion, but I've had bad experiences with those in my start in this hobby.
I have had better luck with companies like Horizon, Tower Hobbies, Sig and I have bought a few world models planes from Airborne Models and like the build quality of their ARF's
