3000kv blue wonder 24g
I just purchased a 3000kv BW motor. All the data I have seen for this motor is on a 2s. However, I have seen where people have used a 3s and I was wondering if it would work with out blowing motor. I don't have any 2s but i have several 3s 850mAh batteries. Seems like I have people use 4x? props on 3s. Any ideas?

Off the top of my head, I recall folks running APC4.75x4.75 props and some daring souls running 5x5 props on 3S. YMMV.

Use a wattmeter and, as long as you don't go over the amp rating of the motor you should be good to go. Pick the prop to get the proper amps.

Run it up in static testing doing shorter runs and checking for heat. When you get to the point where you cannot keep your finger on the area where the windings and bearing tube are you are pretty close to the safe limit.
Depending on what you want to do in flight, sometimes you can user time limited burst of full throttle and then back off a click to cool it down between bursts. But if you need continuous maximum throttle, test until you find the throttle setting that does not cook the motor.
And keep an eye on the ESC and battery temperature too as you test.
If you want to pursue speed on the 2730 motors there is a ton of info here on doing that. If you look at Truglodite's blog page there are links to a lot of the good info and spreadsheets with a lot of the details. It covers about all of the generations and colors of the blue/red/silver/etc. wonder motors.
Here is one link from Trug's blog page that gives an idea as to how to get more speed out of some of the various 2730 motors:
The spreadsheets he has there (you can see them with the free OpenOffice Calc software) has all of the details on winding and even the battery sizes, props, and the like.
