I will ask this here because I want the advice of heli people. I have a brushless corona and currently run 7 cell packs. I think that I would like to upgrade to a lipo pack. Tanic seems to be a good source. The problem is that I only have a prophet plus charger that will do 4-7 cell nicad & nihm. I like the triton but don't like the fact that you need a power supply to use it at home. Is there a more affordable way to charge a 3s2p pack from a 110 outlet since most of my flying is in the front yard?

well..i would recommend the Astro 109 which is a dedicated Lipo charger but your gonna need a power supply for it as well. No big deal really, you can pick one up for under $30 and its something I think you will have future use for. The Astro 109 is great! Automatically detects the amount of Lipo cells, has one of the highest charge rates, and can charge many cells. Since you already have a nicad/nimh charger you might as well go with an extremely capable lipo charger. Thats what did. I'm sure may will agree with me on the Astro 109. Good luck.

I dont know of any 110 chargers that can compare (not even close) to the Triton or Astro or Schulze or Orbit. Those are all the best lipo chargers and ALL require a 12Volt power supply.

You can get one from E-Bay for under $30.00 and they work great. The other plus to this is that you CAN go away from home and still charge.

By the way I second the vote for the Astro - as long as you are going to stay under 6S lipos. They are not good over 6S even tho rated for 9S.

If you are going to get into hi voltage BIG packs get the Schulze.

I sure like my Shulze and Orbit Pro, but I think you are out of luck with the AC.

I use a RS 25 amp PS that works great though.

I am moving to B and C though, it is just a Charger question
