making my first night flyer.

Does anyone know what the configuration is on these strips that are rated for 12v?

can they safely be run on 4S?

how many leds in series?

what resistor?

thanks,
tim

I take it you're using these led strips:

If that's the case, then just run them off a 3S pack. DO NOT use a 4s pack...that is unless you wanna see them fry. With LEDs, more voltage does not mean brighter. Different colors will act differently at different voltages. For example, my ambers look dim at 8v but at 11v, they're fairly bright.

So to answer your other questions, you don't need any resistors. They're already soldered onto the LED strip. You can probably run as many in series as reasonable. For instance, I have about 60-90 leds in my flying wing.

just hooked them up for the first time today, they are plenty bright on 3S.

I'll take your word about not going to 4S

thanks,
