Tim, do you mean the Franklin hull?

Okay, some pics from my shop of the first hull out of the mold several years ago, and a shot of the guy who commissioned it taking it home---.

Thanks for the recap & photos, guys. Looks like a great time was had by all!

What caught my eye was this little towboat beside the fuel barge. One couldn't think of a better way to commemorate Towboat Joe.

Thanks for all the pictures. Just sorry I couldn't make ti there this year. Health issues just wouldn't allow me. I was pleased to see "Old Woody" in sevreal of the pictures. If you have any shots with more of the members it would be fun to see them. Looks like a great place to run boats even if there is no Hooters near by...... jda

Dave, you're not the only one with health problems being an issue.

I was down and out for the count last year with a surgery gone bad, and I noticed an apparent thinning in the ranks of the St. Louis Admirals Club at this year's event.

I guess that a number of their members have been unable to travel, are in hospital, or have passed away---.

Being a member of the Admirals, you hit the nail on the head Karl.

The cmdr. of the Admirals told me their down to 30 members :-( Karl, did you receive an envelope from me yet? Sent it last Tues. Ive been burning up the web looking for ideas for my new hull. Boils down to three ideas, steam tug, yacht build from tug or small passenger ferry. Any way I go, its going to be late 1800's- early 1900's. Look up Machigonne, thinking of a smaller version of her.

Yes Tim, I received the envelope, and thanks for the check.

Regarding the thinning membership of the Admirals' club, this seems to be a trend anong our own group as well, and a number of others that I've visited. The old-timers are dying off, and there have been few, if any new people to replace them.

With it goes the know-how on building and sailing models.

Shoot for a double-decker excursion boat---.

A "smaller version of the Michigonian" might be the Vinal Haven, a New England coastal steamer. Here are a few pics and some hull lines. The quality isn't the best for the lines, but I am also informed that the drawings, including lines, are available from the Mystic Seaport Museum.
