Outrunner motor mount in, its a 5mm thick stack of 1mm carbon plate, is resessed 9mm back from front of fuselage. Feels very strong and rigid. carbon tow running around the joint to the fuse.

Installing the motor takes about 45 minutes to do the 4 hex head bolts up from the inside. Not so easy to do

the tale of the X

A Little Story:
In July 2011 I saw the first time a pic from the X-Plane.
I was impressed from the first Moment thought - THATS IT
Since than the x was all time in my head when I thought - what bird next.
Last year was a bit stressful, and other Projects stood in the line, but all time I said to my Girl, next will be an X-Plane.
Now the day will come and this beautiful plane and beautiful work from Yuri will be over here ..
I can tell you YES I AM HAPPY
@Yuri:
Thanks a lot , only the pics Show what a great bird you have build.
I could not say it with words how happy I am.

@yello - Monstermotor means not all time weight also too - to less weight is not all time good.

Rolf: a year or two from now you're going to feel just as happy (unless Murphy sneaks on board) when you look at your X-plane.... It's unique, it has the scheme of your choice, it was made for you & it's yours.
I just made some changes to mine and I caught myself thinking "Damn! That plane looks good!!!!" Photo session once more....
Keep in mind this one was once a lawn dart with the wing totally delaminated between the flap servos....
Still the best looking in my (personal and VERY subjective) opinion, although some of the recent photos are printed on my retinas...

I try to find other places to park mine. Moist and acid environments can ruin electronics.....

Don't blame the X. It's your ASS that makes your ASS look big.
