While working on Marcel's Mermaid and getting lots of other inputs in that thread
I had a notion to do a Seawind type of design.
Things that I wanted to incorporate included ...
Marcel's style of building and include Slots and tabs for alignment.
A built up, air foiled type foam wing with spars.
Hidden motor wires and plenty of battery pak space in the nose.
The Tail is planned to be two layers of 6mm with routed channels and the Nose is bulged for internal space.
Additional support for the main floor.
An Airfoil type of fuselage like Whitman home built's.
Ability to do Slide On Ground and water operations.
I have included in this 1st post a 4 view and a PDF of my tentative plans.
Looking for discussion, improvements and or suggestions.
Thanks for participating.

Good looking amphibian Bob. How about a further excursion from the norm by making it a tandem wing? like to poe du ceil or the mauboussin hemiptere?

Bob... Where did all those great drawings of the pusher style design go? I was ready to jump on another 'first of'.......

Foamdave the mauboussin hemiptere might be doable.
But the last time I saw a tandem wing over the water it was Lilienthal
and his ended up then river :-(
um which drawings are you talking about ?
Marcels designs are pushers
and the MDC F-14 is a pusher
and Chara's Harpy is a pusher.
If you are referring to the Giant Pink foam pushers ...
I quit offering them as I was never happy with the way the foam cuts.
Environmentalists made the XPS industry change methods and formulations
and it's just not the same as it used to be.
Router based spiral cutters tend to tear out going across the web.
Depron is still a nice foam to cut.
Something else ? let me know :-)

I used to read the Polaris thread but it got so long and after I destroyed my Polaris
it was just too much to bother with.

I agree with LOCKEY keep moving forward with post #1
I little update I have been working at the job more than at the hobby.
I moved the hobby room up stairs in to a 26' x 30' room.

Ya gotta understand that when I moved from WA state to Indiana State I lost my building room.
My 1st priority was the CNC, which is in the garage,
and I'm stuck in a heated breezway with very little room to build.
I have bids from 3 places for a NEW detached 30 x 30 Shop but it's still not quite Spring yet. So they have not STARTED yet.
I may not be IN the new shop until May/June.
So I sit here Designing Models in my VIRTUAL space on the PC.
Now IF you want a "Special Deal" on this design I'll send parts for you to build
at material cost only ! And allz you do is build and report !
Yesterday I had another go at the design and added some of Lockeys Wing/hatch removal
Heading to Toledo this weekend.
Havent been since 2004.
Recall I was on the west coast 02 - 12.
It's good to be back. I'm just not completely settled in just yet :-)
