has anyone ever put retracts on this plane?

Yep. Here's mine.

Trimming question
High power and slow she dives, High speed she climbs. I can't see an obvious way to shim the motor (stock). I understand why this happens and I know it is a choice of trimming one or the other . If someone has a fix please let me know.

1. Trim for wide open throttle
2. Inspect elevon position with power to servos
3. If elevons are slightly up, tighten the front mount screws to squish foam and give you more thrust angle, then fly it again and trim for wide open throttle
4. If elevons are slightly down, tighten the rear mount screws to squish some foam which will lessen your thrust angle, then fly it again and trim for wide open throttle

Repeat process untill you dont have an immediate pitch change with throttle input, and untill your elevons are basically neutral with the wing, not in the airstream, and streamlined with the fuse.

Just guessing but some up thrust might help in the launch too?

It depends on the transmitter you are using and the type of throw you preferr

If your talking motor thrust ange being the up thrust,no,it needs to be straight.

No, but a "launch mode" with positive elevator input does wonders

I think this will be about the best you can hope to get from $100 worth of hardware.
Battery size should be no smaller than 4S4000 40C or 5S3000 40C, preferably larger.

How do I know this? I can prove it

The Stryker in the video is a far from perfect specimen, but built strong with CF tubing, glassed all around and sturdy as a armoured truck. AUW was about 1850 grams.

When you order the 39mm mount pictured there do you get the brace that goes on the body of the plane itself or do you order that separate on the site. The reason I ask is I've tried finding it on the site and can't so I'm guess it comes with the engine mounts???

The backets normally comes with the 28 and 36mm kits. Slip Gary (sales@customrcparts.com) a mail and ask if you can get a combo deal on the 39mm + brackets. Should set you back about 40some and be well worth it!!!!

The dx7 is great,just program a bit of up elevator on your 3 way switch for launching.

This works very well.
I've got just 2-3 mm up elevator, and that does the trick.
