37" Piper Cub, upgrade motor, prop etc?
 I purchased a Piper Cub from ebay about a month ago and have flown it three times with great success but it needs a bit more power to gain more height. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...MEWN%3AIT&rd=1 Currently has the following: Stock 380 Motor with 7" plastic prop and a 600mah AAA battery pack I recently purchased a 1050mah 2/3A battery pack which is the max size that will fit into the battery box....CG should be about the same as I had to add 1/2oz to the eng crowl to keep it from wanting to stall at WOT but will recheck this before the next flight. I want to use the Venom VMG Fireball Micro 370 motor but I am not sure what size prop and pitch to run and if I should keep it direct dirve "as it is now" or go with a 3.1 gear drive which will also require a bigger prop. http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LXHUJ0&P=ML Thanks for any suggestions! What, 24oz or so? 8 cells? I'd consider the GWS EPS400C-A geared drive, myself: http://www.balsapr.com/catalog/motor...ductId=T704773 Most of the 'hot' can motors are simply re-timed to run correctly. See some of the posts from DeanInMilwaukee on the 400 motor timing... |

I took a 480DD plane and moved it to an EPS-400C-A with an 8x6 prop, switched from 8 to 10 sells, and had incredible performance
 It was an SR x-250 (Balsa). Since sold it to a fellow E-zoner...
