Bermuda Sloop c. 1740 in the Water!

Well, only in the swimming pool so far, but it's waterproof, very stable with its fin keel attached and all the controls work well, including the overlapping staysail on jib. I've used two GWS 37 125 servo winches, each turned down for its use: The mainsail gets about 50% to go as far as the shrouds permit and the overlapping staysail, jib and topsail have a winch reduced to 33% throw. The rudder has a conventional GWS Mighty Micro servo. The battery is 6V 2500 mah NIMH. The on/off and charging switch is the receiver/system switch from Hobbyking.

The photos are: 1) The equipment deck 2) The model on its stands and 3) Sailing in a very light breeze.

If we ever get enough rain out here to begin to fill up our recreational lakes, I'll post a sailing video.

Scale

Thanks. It's 5/16"+1', the largest size that would fit in my wife's SUV without taking anything down on the model.

servo operation

Hi Clayfeld,

Great looking model. You do not need to wait to hit the water to post a video. I for one, would welcome a voice video explanation of your RC servo placement and operation. What works and doesn't work. Or, what you'd do differently. It would be a good way to pass on to us what you've learned.
