Looking for micro quads!

Hello,

I am looking for 2 cheap micro quads, one for me and one for my dad.
from the size around 10-15cm
I was thinking about a Syma X11 and X4.
But I am sure you guys have a better advice or can tell me a bit more about these 2 quads,

Thanks,
Adam.

i highly recommend the hubsan x4 its very fun for beginners and expert flyers because of its two modes,it also is quite durable for its size.

I would recommend the JJRC JJ-1000 and the Yizhan X4. Both of these quads use the same protocol which means you can use either transmitter for either quad.

Both have propguards (Yizahn X4 isn`t removable).

Once you get a transmitter, you can buy a Bind and Fly (BNF) JJRC JJ-1000 for around $13 (once you start flying, one quad won`t be enough).

The Yizhan X4 comes with a 350mah battery but can hold a 500mah. I get 4 1/2 minutes of flight with the 350mah. The JJ-1000 comes with a 250mah. I use a 350mah and get between 6 and 7 minutes of flight depending how hard I`m flying.

Everyone has their preferences, but IMO these quads are better than the Hubsan X4. I have 2 Hubsans and rarely fly them because the JJ-1000 and Yizhan X4 fly much better. The Hubsan X4 does have longer flight times and with a 500mah battery can get 10 minutes of flight. I think it`s faster, too. It just doesn't fly quite as well.

Parts are easier to find for the Hubsans. With the JJ-1000, it's cheaper to buy a new BNF.

Thanks, I already ordered a x5c-1 for myself and I have flown a quad before (it broke )
Myself I will be getting a wltoys Q212G
But for my dad I will need something very basic stable and easy to fly, Like a syma X4
he only flew my quad once and that was when it had stability issues.

Any suggestions?

My YZ X4 has screws underneath each prop guard that allows you to undo them and remove them. You can also get replacements cheap from Banggood for a set of four minus the screws (so use the right screwdriver and don't strip the heads like I did)

The Syma X11 is a nice stable flier and good for beginners but also look at the Moontop M99916 which is a clone with better yaw rate for less money.
JJ1000 BNF's are a great buy if you do go with the YZ X4 as the transmitter and battery will work with both. The YZ X4 is a nice quad but with a lot of pitch and less yaw, great for speed not so much for tight funnels.
A favourite among many including me is Bayangtoys X9, cheap, nice transmitter, swappable battery, can take a lot of knocks and very nice fliers, great as trainers.
But both the X11 and especially the X4 are good suggestions for a nice easy stable flier or a beginners quad.

Edit: Added photos of the screws to remove prop guards from YZ X4.

Thanks for correcting me. I just flew mine and saw the screws. I was going to correct my post, but you did it for me. I was wrong. First time for everything, I guess.

Yi-Zhan YZ X4, Bayang toy X7, X9. Syma X4 and JJ1000's are super beginner quad. One thing about the Syma X4, because it sit very low to the ground which is hard to take off from grass and also pick up hair and blind the props. you can use cable tire to make some landing feet for it, it is a great flyer.

Not wrong, think of it as correct given the factual data you had available at the time.
It surprisingly makes very little difference without the prop guards but does look weird with the shafts sticking out so far past the motors. I tried leaving the guards on and modifying them so they don't catch on things too much but went back to fitting full proper guards just because it looks better. And they are effective.

X9 is a solid choice, get a H8 Mini as well, as it can bind to the same transmitter as the x9, for better control. Both are different flying quads, so nice for some diversion.

GB has the Green for only $18.32 USD at the moment but that price is only on the Green one.

Black is $23.77 USD and White $22.72 USD for some reason.

Green is the best looker in my opinion, if it's anything like the sale they had on the Red HY852 it may not last long though.
