Question
biplane foamy

Hey fellas. Im looking at building a foamie 3d biplane that's totally user friendly.. I can fly decent. Just want to build something slower to fly but fun! Any ideas would be great! I have a 3128 1300kv brushless motor, 20amp esc, 9 gram servos, AR6310 rx or bigger if needed.. 3s 450mah or 3s 1300s. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks and happy flying!

Hi !

if you have no wind or winds under 20Km/h : imho, Nothing is better than a TROLL (indoor and outdoor flyer).

It's very acrobatic plane, easy and fast to build - just need some 3mm depron, a die cut of 6mm depron, some 3mm light balsa strips and some thin Carbon fiber rods + shrink tube.

This biplane is able to fly VERY slowly (at the same speed as the pilot walks)
Perfect for 3D flights and learning 3D - she had been designed for F3P (indoor 3D competition).

Build it light (AUW under 180gr) and you will fall in love with this little funny thing powered with a 2S 500mAh lipo and a 8x4.7 prop., ESC : 10 to 12A
Brushless 2205C 1400kv like this one : http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...idproduct=7520

The Troll is near to be a profile plane (the square boxed fuselage is very very easy to build.)

And she flies like a dream !

Beware, the Troll is a kind of drug : it's the most addictive plane ever...

My 1st Troll at this time recorded more than 186 flights since i built her and the second one preformed up to 70 flights during last year !

Oh, it's probably in French (the Troll's Designer is Swiss man).

You need a letter format tiled plan ?

If you need informations about how to build the Troll, no problem i can try to help (if you don't fear my poor English).

No problem.
i will try to transform the big 1:1 size plan sheet into a good bunch of standard sized inkjet printer paper sheets (in the US your standard paper size is different than the one we use in europe. You paper format is called "letter format" i.e. it measure 11" 8", our format is called "A4 format" and its size is slightly different ).

You just will have to glue the paper sheets to reproduce the full sized plan and use the printed parts as templates to cut the real parts from foam - i.e. your first "build from scratch".

Are you ready to meet the challenge ?

Another way : You also can bring the pdf file to a Reprographer (a shop that can print the 1:1 sized plan for you).

Many times ago I posted a step by step build log + pictures on a French forum.
Here is the link to the (google translated) English version.

It's far to be a perfect translation but it can help you to see what to do and when to do it :

Have a good evening, it's diner time here .

I stay tuned
