I thought I had resolved the tail heavy issue with this setup
4S4000 Glacier where you can get at it easily.

Yup...any extra weight helps, but, a larger, more powerful motor is still the way to go in my opinion...

Okay, so I've got one of these on the way: Motrolfly DM 4315 kv500

Seems like 15x8 is the way to go. Now to decide 5s or 6s as the motor seems compatible with both. Any input is appreciated!

5S you will more than likely need to use a 16" prop, 6S 15" prop. You "could" use a 16", but it's not going to give you much ground clearance, so, you will definitely need to make good landings..

To anyone that has bought the 58" Edge 540 from the latest batch.
Is it just as good as the earlier ones?

The model that is available now is the same one that has been available for a few years. If you are asking about the quality, I'm very sure they are. I bought one of the new 75" Extra's when they came out, and the quality is every bit as good any 3DHS kit has ever been.

If you are asking about a comparison between the original plane and this one as per performance. I have had both, and both fly very well, though yes a bit different. But then, my original was a 4S floater, this one is a 5S powerhouse...
