Question
What is better - 2.4 Mhz or 1.3-1.2 Mhz for fpv ?

Hello everyone

As I understand 2.4 Mhz for fpv on WIFI And can be Video Problems ..
Also 2.4 Mhz Not a good penetrating (Punch) objects Like trees/Buildings .

And 1.3 or 1.2 Mhz Good for FPV That there is nothing on it ..
And it penetrating (Punch) Objects better Then 2.4 Mhz .
Also that get longer ranges with 1.3 - 1.2 Mhz .

Correct me if I'm wrong ...
What is better for FPV ?

Hi,

None of the frequencies you list are commonly used in FPV or RC, I think you mean GHz.
To my understanding 2.4GHz is not used for video, it's just used for control signals. 2.4GHz can cause interference in video signals on 1.2 and 1.3GHz since they have close harmonics to 2.4 (1.2 * 2 = 2.4).

1.2 and 1.3GHz actually penetrate obstacles quite well. There aren't that many frequencies to use for video, but lower frequencies penetrate better. So 900MHz is even better in that regard, while 5.8GHz doesn't penetrate much at all.

What is better depends on where and how you will use it. If you plan to fly where you will have obstacles between you and the plane the lower frequencies for video will be needed, and I think then you should select the control frequency (UHF vs 2.4GHz) so that it will work along with that.

2.4 is used for video as well and is very popular. I personally fly 1.3. A low pass filter on a 1.3vtx will fix the noise on the 2.4 radio freq.

Everyone flies pertaining to their interest and setup. The lower the freq, the bigger the antennas but better penetration and vise versa with the higher the freq.

There are also common interferences with each freq. So be sure to look these up and figure out if these are in your area where you will be flying. Cell phone towers, wifi, etc....

To answer your question, there is not a "better" freq for fpv. Everyone chooses what they have based on their personal setup and their needs. Some people just plan on flying around themself like at a park or something and 5.8 is perfect for that. Its all about what you want to do with it.

Thanks for your comment .
So i need A freq Serve me to Long Range Something like 5 - 10 Kilometer ..
I fly quite close to the city So that there may be problems with
Cell phones and WIFI . So For now I think 2.4 and 900Mhz Not good for me ...
I also want good penetration to Trees and hills .
My question is with some freq i can fly a Long Range With minimum disturbance Video ?

Thank you Very Much !

Hello Alex .
First of all I want to tell you I've seen all your videos in the past
And I learned a lot About FPV Because of you So thank you !
I asked this question based on what you said But I wanted a second opinion ..
But if you've been here - Which Freq you offer for me ?
Considering I flew close to the city And the distance is Something like 5 - 10 Km.

Thank you very much!

Given what you have stated above:

1.3ghz then for video, and UHF (around 400mhz) for control..

At first I would fly close with 72Mhz Radio control ..
In the future I want to fly Long Range (To 10 Km) with UHF Radio control system . What do you say 1.3 is better for me ?

Of the common frequencies you listed. 1.3 has the best ability to go through objects.. You still will not be able to land your ship 2 miles away, but it will better tolerate some obstructions between TX and RX antenna.

You really need to be careful trying to fly that far on your first trip. It's not as easy as you think.

That's an understatement.

I personally fly 2.3/2.4GHz. I used to fly 1.3GHz, but then my friends all got on 1.3GHz and I got sick of waiting my turn to fly
